Finding it difficult to obtain travel insurance if you're 70+?

Isn't strange how, the older we get - especially if we are over 70 - the more difficult it is to obtain travel insurance? We have more time to travel, possibly more money available and just because we're older, it doesn't necessarily mean we're unwell.

However, it is the case that the older we get, the more chance there is that we will make a claim on a travel insurance policy and that the claims are higher if we do. So virtually all policies have what's called an upper age limit. We don't, for single trip insurance! If you want an annual, multi-trip policy, the age limit is 75.
